The Toy Run— The Delaware Valley Trail Riders (DVTR) crew lays out a challenging, but fun single-track loop, complete with arrows and we even send out a few of the club hot shots to keep an eye on things to make sure no one gets in over their head. The property's exis ng double track and Jeep road stuff is used for most of the adventure bike and big dual sport riders. For ATVs and SXSs, the property also has an abundance of trails from easy to challenging to downright bone-jarring. Registered a endees can also noodle around on their own and get to know the place if they are interested in purchasing the annual permit. For 2018 we're holding the event on Dec. 2, the same week- end as last year. It gives us a good shot at decent weather and allows plenty of me for toy distribu on to the needy kids in the area. The registra on fee and dona on of an unwrapped toy gets you a free day of riding on the property the day of the event, lunch and an RMATV gi card. We also do a ton of other giveaways in the a ernoon that are a hoot. Pre-registered persons also get a cool 2018 Dirty Santa Toy Run event t-shirt. Oh, and like I men oned, we're down with ALL legit off-road users. So for 2018 we'll be having a Jeep organiza on running four-wheelers. This let's yet another OHV group work together with the other OHV groups, as well as increase the number of toys we can collect. A li le bit about DVTR —it's pre y amazing that in just a few short years this club that grew out of a Facebook group started by Marco, has pulled off two successful Dirty Santa events and will be execu ng the third soon. We're also a newly minted ECEA club and are AMA chartered. We've got a couple awe- some women on our club's execu ve board, as well as a few guys with no grey hair (yet). We also have a fair amount of accomplished female riders, expert racers, instructors and mo- to-related business owners in our club. So DVTR is atypical of dirt bike clubs, at least in as much as the events we execute are not purely compe ve. Our aim is to draw more families, youth and women into the sport. You've got to admit, there's a lot of grey under most of those helmets out on the trail. And, we just recently got the opportunity to take over the Michaux Dual Sport in south central PA! This is the longest running Dual Sport in the U.S., but it was going to sunset a er this past July's running because they were ge ng short of people to help run the event. As soon as the 2018 Dirty Santa is put to bed, we'll be concentra ng on the 2019 Dual Sport. The name will change, but we are sure we can live up to the standards and expecta ons that the former club M.O.R.E has established over the years. We hope to see some of you Trail Rider readers at the Dirty Santa Toy Run this coming Dec 2!
