How were your holidays?
The holidays were good!. My grandma came down
for Thanksgiving and it was great to see her . We had
more family over for Christmas and my sister came
home from Hawaii, so it was great to see her as well.
I did catch a little stomach bug over Christmas which
knocked me out for a few days, but otherwise made it
through the holidays intact. For New Years we had a
little gathering at my house...the tractor didn't end up
in the lake so that was good (laughs.)
Did you have an off season?
Yes, a little bit. My girlfriend and I traveled to Chile
shortly after the season ended. We brought our MTN
Bikes and did some riding, hiking, and camping. We
also rented a car and met up with some nice people

that let us stay in their second home. The weather
was warm and it was an overall great trip.
How do you feel this year compared to last?
Much better. I had a nagging wrist injury and didn't
go in to the season 100 percent. When I finally got
back on the bike, we had to do some last minute testing before the first round. The wrist was slow to heal
and would sometimes keep me up at night. It was
hard doing the kind of training that I needed to. I didn't really begin to feel well until the latter part of the
season.
Were you disappointed with a third place finish?
Yes and no. Yes, because I couldn't ride the way I
wanted to, and no, because it could have gone worse.
Hardest part of 2012?
