March 2019 13 I was having way too much fun riding this bike at this point, I thought to myself. On to the next challenge!! We headed for a wicked steep sand hill that was half-covered in snow. To my surprise, the li le Honda pulled Kurt right up!! Of course, we wanted more so I tried the back side of the hill that was even steeper! I hit the hill in third gear pinned, and the bike never skipped a beat and pulled me right up! Once again, we were all shocked and laughing, pu ng the Honda through its paces! The sun was shining on us atop the sand hill as we looked for the next spot for the li le red machine. We spo ed a nice sand berm area and small jump, and scooted over for a few pics of me laying it over, blowing apart the corner a few mes like we were on the moto track. It loved it! Hahaha; it wanted more!! So we decided to take it to the air and see what it could do! It's no feath- erweight, but I was surprised how light it actually felt. I found a good line and lip to hit on the side of a cranberry bog and sent it! First hit was pre y good about four foot of air to flat landing; the bike didn't even bo om. I turned around for another go at it! This me I scrubbed off of the lip, burying the peg and frame with the handlebar about 10 inches from the ground and the bike loved it. The 250F was totally air me friendly and flickable beyond my belief! Sooooooo, I figured why not hit it a few more mes faster, higher, harder, and the li le Honda never missed a beat! Never mind the smile on my face and all onlookers! Not sure who was having more fun — the bike or the full-grown kids riding it. Kurt spo ed some large rocks and said let's head over and see what we can find. Owen found a rock drop off that was like a seven-foot to flat and hit it!! So I had to give it a try on the li le Honda. The approach was hairy to say the least, but I sent it and the bike took it and didn't even bo om harsh- ly…. Mindblown!!! This is a great bike for anyone! All we had le to do was find some logs and small bit of trail to see how it would run over logs at speed. Once again, the red hot rod handled the logs at speed with ease; whether I hit it with the front re or wheelied the log, smashing the rear wheel over it without any kick back. As for brakes, the front and rear discs are light years ahead of the old drum brakes of XR'S past. The bike stops on a dime. The years of having no brakes 15 min- utes into the ride on the old XRs are gone! Hats off to Honda on this one WELL DONE!!! Can't wait to see how it fares on a long ride or even a turkey run. Overall, this is the li le bike that could!!!!
