ABOUT CYSTIC FIBROSIS (CF) By par cipa ng in the Classic, you are crea ng a brighter future for thousands of children and adults living with this complex disease. CF is a gene c disease that affects the diges ve and respiratory systems. There is no cure. The necessary funds to ba le this devasta ng disease are raised through special events like the Classic. With your help over the past 39 years, the Classic has raised $2,566,159 for the CF Founda on and has made a las ng impact in the quest for a cure and given the children and adults with CF the quality of life and future they deserve. Important Note on A endance at Founda on Events: To reduce the risk of ge ng and spreading germs at CF Founda on-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best prac ces by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a ssue or your inner elbow and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infec on. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung func- on. To further help reduce the risk of cross-infec on, the Founda on's a endance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all mes while a ending an outdoor Founda on-sponsored event.
