10 Trail Rider Pirelli Scorpion XC res were doing the job quite well in the sandy Cape Cod soil. The Keihin 34mm thro le body fuel injec on mapping is spot-on. There are no flat spots anywhere, just smooth linear power delivery with an exhaust note that won't anger the neighbors. The fact that the motor is counterbalanced is greatly appreciated as there's zero vibra on transferred to the bars or pegs. It loves to wheelie and is such a blast to ride. Even at expert level, my buds were im- pressed. What's cool about this exci ng new model is how it fills a hole in the market. Few will argue that op ons for a young person moving up from minicycles are limited. Not every kid is interested in, or capable of handling a high-strung race bike. Typically priced at several thousand dollars more, not everyone has the budget for a race bike; let alone the maintenance required. The fact that the 250F is fuel-injected makes it so much easier to own. With today's low quality ethanol pump fuel, most carburetor pilot jets clog within three months of si ng. Fuel injec on makes it so much more forgiving. Older riders that might be considering re-entering the sport of off-road riding might be reluctant to spend 8-10k to get back in the game. It's a big financial commitment. Priced at just under $4600, the CRF250F is within reach of a much larger audience. The fact that the 250F is a very capa- ble trail bike is the icing on the cake. Trail Rider Magazine is very happy to see Honda inves ng in a sport we all love so much, trail riding! In closing, we've got lots in store for this exci ng new model. The fact that the CRF250F is equipped with a 200 wa DC stator is another bonus for those interested in adding ligh ng. In our upcoming issue, we'll be dressing the 250F with components we feel are necessary for woods riding. Not racing, just back to basics, enjoyable trail riding!
