12 12 Trail Rider Not long a er filling our bellies, the MVTR group decided to throw us to the wolves with a rather brutal and seemingly endless steep rocky powerline sec- on. The sheer rock faces in midated a few but all emerged rela vely unscathed. The remaining "Hero Sec ons" were challenging but not as tough as that wild power line! Masochists! In the end, Saturday's run yielded just under 110 miles of some of the nicest woods riding this guy has done in many months! As for the Sunday northern ride, the majority of my group had family obliga ons so I chose to head out early on our li le Honda CRF250F for some photo duty in the Hero and Super Hero sec ons. With a good vantage point, watching the A and AA riders rip through the nasty, steep rocky climbs was a treat. What I found interes ng was long- me MVTR member and local New England fast guy Shawn Levesque handled the steepest climbs on his KTM 150 with ease. While some riders flat-out a ack hero sec ons, Levesque slipped up and over the rough stuff in fluid mo on. Many had fun ripping around the abandoned dog track, winding around the whoops and through sever- al abandoned buildings Euro style! Temps had risen quite a bit by noon and the lunch stop at the property of Alex Boisvert was like an oasis. By this me, many riders had grown red and weary a er close to two days of punishment. Others like Levesque sipped a couple bo les of water and danced on through the woods wrapping up another 100-plus mile day with ease. Those fast guys! Photo by Paul Bickford
