28 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com As we bid a fond farewell to a wonderful summer sea- son, another beau ful autumn is gradually finding its way back to the New England region. While this may bring us thoughts of chilly nights, along with those of pumpkins and Indian corn decora ons, it also means we get our first look at the excitement of next year's newest bikes for the off-road enthusiasts here in the Trail Rider readership. Today I would like to share our first look at the 2020 Sherco Trial bikes, along with a short impression from my brief test ride on our first Sherco arrival for the upcoming model year, the 2020 Sherco 250 ST Factory edi on. Many in our readership might recall the extended riding impression of the 2019 Sherco Trials bikes from an ar cle on these bikes last spring, where the 300cc version made a posi ve and las ng impression on all those who were lucky enough to spend some quality peg me on these awesome bikes. Well, a er my first exposure to the 2020 Sherco, I'm quite sure that this bike will once again be at or near the top of my per- sonal list of fabulous bikes for the Trials enthusiast. As before, we asked Sherco for their very best, the "Fac- tory" edi on of their ST Trial line-up, and as before, the bike did not fail to impress! Star ng on the outside of the bike, we find a new silver color scheme on the frame, where we used to see a solid white in the past, and to my eyes, this adds a very classy look to the machine. Along with the rest of the revised graphics for 2020, the overall look of the bike is even more appealing than the already sharp looking models form the past. Under this new look, we find that while the refinements are not earth-shaking, they do con nue to move the performance of these bikes further ahead than ever before. Mechanical changes for 2020 include updated se ngs for the Tech Alloy forks, and industry stan- dard Reiger rear shock, both to help provide be er impact absorp on, and a lighter feel to the bike in the sec ons. The Tech/ Reiger suspension compo- nents are what help to set the "Factory " edi on apart from the Standard model bikes, where an Olle 16v shock is used. While the Olle is a quality unit, the Reiger is in a league of its own when it comes to Trials performance, where it provides a plush ride, along with the most amazing trac on of any unit I've ever known before. Greater bo oming resistance is very evident when riding, along with a plushness that is truly remarkable as the smaller bumps and obstacles seem to almost disappear beneath the s cky Dunlop 803GP res. Small refinements to the igni on are said to provide The Trials Section 2020 Sherco 250 ST Factory By Stuart Preston
