Ian Blythe came on strong at the end, winning the 5th test and missing the podium by seconds. Grant Baylor continues to rise. The upstart rode a smart race and nished 5th overall Colorado native Ian Blythe got stronger through the day, winning the 5th test and posting the second fastest time in the final section. Ian would miss the final podium spot by just 12 seconds. 15 year old Grant Baylor continues to impress, earning 5th overall for the day. The upstart rode smoothly and consistently throughout the day, posting the 3rd fastest time in the tough, technical 3rd test. The dry Texas landscape caused problems throughout the day for the field of Pro Riders. Charlie Mullins and Mike Lafferty each suffered violent crashes in the first test, leaving the front ends on both machines twisted and out of alignment. Tough luck would be a recurring theme for 8time National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty. I wasnt 40 seconds in to the 1st test when I pushed the front and went down hard. I had to ride the remainder of the test with a tweaked front end. I then tore off my brake pedal in the 2nd section and never really got in sync after that. Lafferty would suffer crashes throughout the day, with the exception of the 3rd test where he would post the second fastest time. The series resumes action in Louisiana where Bobbitt, Fahringer, Delong and Lafferty are all within 8 points of one another while Charlie Mullins clings to a 6 point lead.
