One rider escaped relatively unscathed save for a knot on his forehead and a welt on his left cheek that resemble those seen on ring fighters after a few rounds when he had a scary sounding crash while looking to make a pass. I am hoping for some good fortune in the form of two black eyes to add an elevated level of shock value to Cody Anthony���s tale of crashing so hard that he broke his helmet in three places. At any age, but his especially, an embellished tale of cheating fate coupled with near gruesome visual evidence to validate the experience ought to be pretty handy for impressing a sympathetic young female or two. Two black eyes and a fractured helmet could be a better trophy than the real thing..... though the Hellion Designs plaques were awesome. A couple of big stories to ring through the community revolved around who signed up and rode this day, and those who didn���t. A couple young rising stars from the Hare Scrambles series made the trek over to the dark side and dared to fraternize with the more mature crowd. Wading through a sea of gray-haired old geezers must have feel like being a shark in a pond of goldfish for John Kelly and Brendan Riordon, two guys in their teens. As fast as these youngster are though, it was not they who graced the top two spots on the podium, but pretty much everyone in the room at scoring time was impressed with the numbers these rookies posted their first time riding against the clock. No doubt they will excel at this form of off-road for years to come if they choose to stick with it. It���s my hope that they become something of spokesmen for the Enduro series by presenting the great riding opportunities this series provides to more riders in their age group, and encourage them to give it a try. New blood is good to Brendan Bernard, B Hi Point see and more of it will only strengthen the sport. Another noticeable occurrence was that Brooks Hamilton is back from an injury-laden season and he not only held off a strong showing from the teen sensations, he also prevailed over a renewed Nick Canny who was in it for the win.
