"I have always been pretty good in the muddy tough conditions, so that gave me a little more confidence. All in all, I felt like my day went very well. I made a few mistakes and missed a few good lines in the first section. Those may have cost me just enough time that I dropped a point." Kline said that the race was a great start to his season and was a huge confidence booster after a pretty lazy off-season. He would like to thank his wife, Catie, his dad and mom, Wheelsports, Moose Racing, Kenda, Oakley and Larry Silvia for setting up his suspension. He hopes that this race is a just the start of more Overall A's. "Thanks to the New Straitsville Enduro Riders for putting on a great enduro in such crappy weather. Also, all the guys from the other ACES clubs that came and ran checks," said Jolly. He would like to thank his Mom, Dad and wife, Lauren, for gassing me and my friends, and being out there in the cold taking care of us when it was barely above freezing. Also, Smith's Powersports, Moose Racing, EVS, ODI Grips, Dunlop, TwinAir and FMF. Overall B: Aarony Cooney Overall A: Michael Jolly Michael Jolly (HSB) started riding when he was 10 years old around his parents' farm. He raced his first hare scramble when he was 14 and his first enduro two weeks before he turned 16. He said he has been riding the ACES enduros before they were officially ACES. He rode his 2012 Husaberg TE300 that he got in May of 2012. "My clutch was slipping the whole race, and even though they had short sections, I still over heated the bike in the A section and again in the last section of the day," said Jolly. "The jetting was a little off for as cold as the weather was, and it looks like I have a new clutch to put in before the next enduro." Jolly told some of his friends, "...this race should be a real test of character." He crashed at a hare scramble the week before and was unsure if he was even going to ride. "I thought it would be tougher and more physically demanding than what it was, but it was still a great enduro," said Jolly. Overall B winner, Aaron Cooney, a second year ACES rider, was inspired to start riding enduros by Pat Patterson. "He convinced me to come try the ACES Enduro Series, and I am sure glad I did," commented Cooney. "I started racing enduros in 2011 at Athens and have been hooked ever since." He said his bike felt good even with it being "sloppy out there." He commented, "The main thing for this race was not getting wet and trying to stay as warm as possible." Cooney wished he had some better gloves for the cold weather and a jacket. When asked if he felt that the enduro was harder or easier than he expected it to be, he replied, "Actually it was both. The trail was easier than last year for sure, but it being as cold as it was my hands were numb most of the day and that made it harder to ride well." "This was definitely a good start, and hopefully there will be more overalls," said Cooney. He would like to thank KRW Cycles for supporting him. Round 1 Results: AA: 1. Trevor Kline (KTM) 2.
