NICK FAHRinger Story and Photos by Kevin Novello N ick Fahringer looks like he's been caught offguard. He has stopped in mid-stride, half way down the ramp of Russell Bobbitt's enclosed trailer that is parked inconspicuously amongst the Factory rigs. In his right hand, a brand new front wheel with the stock MX 51 still mounted to it. In his left, a clapped out rear wheel with the pitiful remains of a tire and sprocket. His eyes first flash toward the RidePG rig across the Pro Pits where his shiny new Husaberg 300 TE is scattered about, awaiting assembly. He shifts slightly to the left towards the KTM Factory rig where tire and sprocket changing duties await. And for a split second, it looks like he may make a run for it. Then he stops, realizing his 16 Trail Rider predicament. He gives me a once over, looking to see what I've brought with me. He relaxes for a moment and flashes an ungrudgingly adolescent smile, relieved that I haven't got a camera trained on him. Clean shaven yet slightly disheveled, a white T-shirt hangs from his sinewy shoulders. The shirt shows the remnants of dirt that's been wiped off in what looks like an attempt to maintain a clean appearance - a tough task when doing bike maintenance. It also looks like it's gone through several cycles of being sweatsoaked and dried by the sun. He is engaging while the pleasantries are exchanged www.TrailRider.com
