J Day Offroad Round 4 C Cycle Suspension GP Crow Hill MX Photos by Art Pepin T he C Cycle GP at the Crow Hill MX facility is one of the most popular venues in the JDay Off Road Series, and with good reason. The MX facility in itself is great fun, but when you factor in the woods trails along the perimeter, the layout offers a diverse experience that appeals to both the motocrosser and woods specialist, with neither having a clear advantage. With several days of rain saturating the thin central Massachusetts soils, the course was ground into a sloppy mix of sand, mud, roots, and even a few rocks by days' end. With Johnny Girroir sidelined with a foot injury, the overall was up for grabs. When the flag dropped on the first moto, it was hole shot specialist Josh Cennamo rounding the first corner first, with Kyle Hangos in tow. The two would race wheel-to-wheel heading into the woods. Despite being an MX specialist, Kyle Hangos would emerge from the woods with an impressive lead, leaving Cenamo to battle with Nick Batten for second. Yamaha-mounted Jason Connel would push his way through the pack to finish in 2nd place by the end of the 30 minute moto. Nick To the delight of the crowd, conditions deteriorated towards the end of the day. 28 Trail Rider Kyle Hangos won both the 125 and Pro Motos. Batten would round out the top three with Jared Boothroyd and Josh Cennamo finishing 4th and 5th, respectively. In the 125 Pro Moto, Kyle Hangos grabbed th holeshot and lead the field into the woods. Several laps later, Hangos would distance himself from Jason Connel, in good form on the buzzing pack and his way to 3rd overall. go on to take the moto one win. Brendan Riordan and Jason Connel would battle the entire moto with Connel coming out on top followed by Jared Boothroyd and Billy Ainsworth to round out the top 5. For the 2nd Pro 125 moto, it was gain Kyle Hangos grabbing the holeshot and putting a little distance between himself and the field.
