10 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com The Kawasaki does have a be er rear shock with adjustable compression and rebound but s ll isn't designed or intended for any serious off-road use. Fun for fire roads but once pushed, the lack of any real damping will rear its ugly head in short order. The more we rode the RS 300R, the more we liked and respected it. We've found the bike to handle everything we've thrown at it with ease. I'll be honest, it's not what I expected as it's way more of a dirt bike than a street bike. To sum it up, it's one killer dual sport. As for pricing, the SWM RS 300R is also in a catego- ry of its own. Priced at $7999 it's a couple grand or so more than the Honda or Kawasaki yet approxi- mately $5000 less than the Austrian op ons. To sum it up, the 2024 SWM RS 300R is lot of bike in this day and age. A few words from test rider Zach Shreeves. I'd like to men on how right out of the box, this bike is super comfortable and really performs. You can ride to the limits and not feel like you're overriding it. Or you can pu around and it doesn't feel like a big lethargic pig. With a sweet midrange hit, it makes it manageable for a be- ginner rider or even an expert. At low revs, it's got a lightweight, friendly, flickable ght turn- ing feeling. When that hit comes on, it's a nice burst of adrenaline for those open straight lines. Impressive for a 300 4 stroke, 50-State Legal dual sport. The KYB suspension is a huge bonus, handling everything from roots and rocks to really hard hits like falling out of the sky during our photoshoot! Everything about the bike from the res to the KYB suspension, the Brembo brakes and the Magura hydraulic clutch, really make the SWM RS 300R predictable and easy to ride. -ZS www.swm-usa.com Mikuni fuel injected twin cam Mikuni fuel injected twin cam Cam driven water pump, 4 valve DOHC Cam driven water pump, 4 valve DOHC
