30 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com Rocket, but seeing a Yamaha IT or Honda XR tackle the gap is quite a cool spectacle. Woods racing took the stage for Sunday's ac on, and right from the start you could see that the great turnout from Saturday's races was going to carry over into the cross-country discipline as well. The star ng grid for the vintage race was impressive and included a large group of new-to-the-region racers who made the long drive down from Long Island to join the fun. By the smiles on their faces, a er the racing was completed, I think we'll see more of them in the future! Races two and three mirrored the generous rider count, and in another promising de- velopment, the novice rows were absolutely packed! We look forward to seeing these newer par cipants grow within the series. The course layout was typical Rocket fare with four and a half miles of mostly established trails, ubiquitous Pennsylvania rocks, logging roads, eleva on changes, challenging flow- ing singletrack with roots and off cambers, a let-er- eat grass track with a sno y, ght, corkscrew down/ up and plenty of mud puddles and creek crossings to wet your boots. This place is always a fun ride, and trail boss Mike Zdybak provided the goods once again to start off '24 in proper Mid-Atlan c fashion. What a great weekend with fair April weather, excellent racing and rider turnout, and in all a great start to a season with lots of intrigue. New riders and established regulars have a lot to be excited about in 2024 as the region will host a few AHRMA Na onal events and the regional series has added two completely new proper es, one of which has long played host to the AMA Na onal Enduro Series, and the other is a promising loca on with a two- wheeled history of its own. Many thanks to the MA volunteers for the pride and effort, Corey Wolfe and his track crew, Mark Carlson, and the region's fine list of sponsors; Potomac Vintage Riders, Preston Pe y Products, Stainless Cycle, Grove Prin ng, KMI Prin ng, Horizon Homes, and M3One. Please visit h ps://www.ahrma.org/ahrma-mid-at- lan c-region to see the results for the en re week- end and the exci ng upcoming schedule. See you on the star ng line!
