July 2024 17 Seat Concepts Element Saddle. Now the stock seat wasn't too bad but as one who enjoys longer events where you spend a fair amount of me si ng, a quality seat is good money spent. For this applica- on, we chose Seat Concepts Element saddle with its aggressive pa ern to keep the rider in place on steep climbs. The height is standard, with just enough width added to support an aging tush. As for the foam, Seat Concepts has its own proprietary for- mula that provides a plush ride without the slightest hint of bo oming. Seat Concepts Element shape has a similar contour to the OEM saddle at the front, so the rider's legs are not spread further apart while standing, tapering out towards the rear to distribute the rider's weight over a greater area. $359.99. Enduro Pro Seat Bag by Slavens Racing. This li le bag slips over the front of the seat. It's sized perfect- ly for an iPhone, a few bucks, and your registra on. We've been running the Enduro Pro bag for a few years now. The quality is top-notch and s ll looks new a er a couple thousand miles of use. Priced at only $26.95 it's a true bargain. G2 Single Cable Thro le Kit. I've never been fond of the stock mushy-feeling dual cable thro le assem- bly. In my opinion, without a firm/hard stop back to idle, low-speed thro le control is vague. Yes, it's something a rider does get used to but if you're one to hop from bike to bike, the vague feeling can be irrita ng. Elimina ng the second (return) cable also results in a lighter cable pull. The kit comes complete with a new Domino thro le housing and aluminum G2 thro le tube and cable. Installed back in 2020, we're pleased with this $125.00 purchase. Also from G2 we mounted a set of their "Full Wrap" handguards. G2 claims their guards offer the least overall width. We've found them strong and have withstood the test of me quite well. $119.95 K-Tech ORVS/WER Suspension., This par cular bike was our introduc on to the K-Tech Off Road Valve System for the WP XPLOR fork. Now the XPLOR fork has been the subject of harsh cri cism, mostly from faster/A-level riders but we found it to work well in the slow-going technical terrain. The fact of the mat- ter is once speeds pick up along with a heavier rider, it's easy to blow right through the stroke bo oming harshly in the process. Our friend Drew Smith at Works Enduro Rider handled the installa on and revalve in expert fashion. We also went with heavier springs as we're not li le kids here. As for the shock, the stock WP reservoir and piston were replaced with a K-Tech bladder conversion. For those that ride in the rocks, we feel the bladder conversion is good money spent as it makes the shock so much more compliant over sno y trail trash. The cost of this up- grade is subjec ve to riders' wants and needs. WER typically charges approximately $1500 for this pack- age including springs front and rear. Figure $250 less if stock springs are adequate for the rider's weight.
