October 2024 25 the next two tests. Jonathan Davis found the terrain to his liking, too, and put his Beta atop the Pro2 class in all three tests as well. Grant Davis bobbled a bit in Test 3 and went 5-4-2, while Jhak Walker went 3-2-4, keeping the leaders in close check. In the Women's Elite, Rachel Gu sh found the 300 Sherco to her liking and went 1-2-1 through the last three tests, ul mately taking the top step of the podium for the weekend. Rachel Archer went 2-1-2 and had to se le for P2, while Shelby Turner stayed consistent through the dust and headed north with the P3 trophy. Test 6 was back to the ght side of the ranch, a li le more than 6 miles of ght stuff to sort out the final pecking order. Josh Toth set the pace through the final test but came up three seconds shy to Stew Baylor at the end of the day and had to se le for P2. Johnny G had the P3 spot sewed up un l a wad of barbed wire in his wheel cost him the extra seconds that Evan Smith needed to slip his Husky into third. JG969 had to se le for P4, with Husky's Trevor Bollinger rounding out the top 5. It was nice to see Stew Baylor atop the podium. He's had a long dry spell due to a number of issues, but he was pumped to be back on the top step and hopes to make it two in a row at the Zink Ranch in a couple of weeks. In the Pro2 class, Jonathan Davis kept the Beta uncorked and set fast me through the final test and secured the top of the podium. Jhak Walker put in a great ride, coming in second through the test, but was just a few seconds shy of knocking Grant Davis out of second. Jhak took a solid P3 ahead of Will Sievenpiper and Ryan Piper, a nice tune-up ride for the ISDE in Spain. Other ISDE-bound riders doing well were Hunt- er Smith, 7th Pro2, Trevor Maley, 9th Pro2, and Huck Jenkins, 2nd AA; great rides by all three young men as they prepared to represent the USA overseas. The NEPG series moves to the John Zink Ranch near Tulsa, OK in two weeks. This is the 30th anniversary of the historic 1994 ISDE held at the Ranch, and the Tulsa Trail Riders have a two-day Enduro Fest and celebra on planned before the Sunday NEPG. Plenty of 1994 veterans are ex- pected to a end as well as many other Six Days vets. It should be a fun weekend, and you can expect coverage here in Trail Rider next month. See ya at the races! -Jeff
