November 2024 25 The last piece of the puzzle was installing the TSP Medium Compression billet cylinder head. First of all, it's a gorgeous part. As one who admits to liking bling, it's a pre y trick looking component. Instal- la on was pre y simple: pull the seat and gas tank, drain the coolant system (KTM makes this really easy as the lower waterpump bolt is also the coolant drain), remove the six head bolts, and pull the stock cylinder head. Installa on is the reverse order and be sure to torque the head bolts to 19.9 lbs. Where the TSP mods really shine is the bike is now a blast to ride in higher gears. Yes, 300s like to be lugged, and I typically find myself riding in third gear on a technical single track. Now, the bike enjoys pull- ing fourth gear with minimal thro le openings while s ll lo ing the front wheel with ease when needed. Steep rocky climbs that were a challenge in second are now conquered in third gear. To sum it up, the TSP components installed all compliment each other very well. Ok, what's the bo om line on all this cool stuff, you ask? Well, a er spending a number of days ge ng in mately familiar with the TSP ERM, I've found it to be a tremendous bargain at $450.00. It has more features than the GET ECU at less than half the price. As for the oversize PV cover, for 120 bucks, it's a performance boost that won't break the bank. As for the TSP Medium Compression Head, we like how it complements the tune. Priced at $320, we feel it's worth the money and completes the package. In the end, we're thoroughly impressed with all the TSP components installed. Huge thanks to Slavens Racing for introducing us to Two Stroke Performance and for providing the components. We like results, and this was certainly a posi ve experience. I'd also like to give thanks to Slavens Technical Rep Tracy Nichols. Tracy's product knowledge is unsurpassed and his customer service is commendable. His help guiding me through the learning curve was greatly appreciated. It's a team that makes a company successful and Jeff Slavens has done a wonderful job of assembling some of the best in the business! What was a rather lazy 300 is now a torque monster. Not uncontrollable in any way, my point is the bike now pulls with authority on the green map and has grunt to spare on the white map.
