September2025 28 Thursday night, my buddies and I planned a trip up to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Now, at this point, I should men on that I don't own a proper ADV bike, but my old Husaberg FE570 seems to work well and keeps up with the ADV machines with no drama. Being good on gas, with excep onally long legs for a woods bike, and fi ed with a comfy Seat Concepts seat, the old 70-degree 'Berg works well for the job at hand. We headed out early Friday morning in search of "the goods". I should add that the beauty of Vermont for motorcyclists who enjoy dirt is that 55% of all the roads in Vermont, including superhighways, are dirt. Our ride wound through pris ne farmlands, beau- ful barns, and countless cow pastures. The scen- ery in Vermont is breathtaking, and the people are incredibly friendly. Most give you a big "hi, how are ya" wave as you pass their humble abodes. Our des na on was an old, long-decommissioned radar tower located atop East Mountain in Burke, VT. A er about 4 hours, we'd made it to the base of the mountain. The loca on is desolate, and we began the 9.5-mile trek up the mountain.
