Bridgestone X40 is impressive Bridgestone X40 is impressive Nitromousse Pla num Nitromousse Pla num As for the rear re, with some longer upcoming rides in mind that might include extended stretches of pavement and hardpack, we chose a Bridgestone X40 rear. Now this is a re that has also proven its worth. It's no secret that we're huge fans of gum- my res here at Trail Rider, but the reality is that all gummies are short-lived. The X40 features a remarkable compound that not only wears like iron but also performs excep onally well in rocky con- di ons. We've been running the X31/X40 combo in a number of dual sport events this season with fantas c results. In order to completely eliminate the chance of flats, we've opted for a set of Nitromousse Pla num foam inserts. With a feel of 10-12 psi compared to a tube, we feel the Pla num's are a great choice for higher mileage events where a s ffer re combo is pre- ferred. Beta 4-strokes differ from most as they have separate sumps for the engine and transmission oils. With Spectro being our preferred lubricant, the engine side received 750cc of Spectro Offroad Premium 4 10W40 was used, along with a new Beta oil filter. The gearbox was treated to 750cc of Spectro Golden Gear SAE 80. We've greatly enjoyed our me with the Beta 350 X-PRO, and we'll be sad when it's me to give this one up. It checks a lot of boxes!
