November 2025 23 Race day kicked off with a full roster of all class- es, including bikes from the 1960s to the cut-off year of 2004, and the racing was spectacular, with many giving it their all as if a World Championship was at stake. The big excitement kicked off mid-af- ternoon with the much-an cipated 125 GP race. We're told 58 racers had entered to qualify for the GP, with 30 making the main. As for requirements, all bikes entered had to be air-cooled, drum brakes, and have conven onal forks. Four strokes were allowed, with a maximum bore of 230cc, with most being Honda XR200s. Also noteworthy is that every qualifier from 11th on got their entry fee back. As expected, the large cash purse led to fierce compe on during the GP. Out of the gate, several strong contenders ba led hard, but by the second lap, a young racer from Ohio named Maccoy Shine put on a clinic for his compe on and fans. Dressed in Amish clothing, something akin to "Ronnie Mac", Shine absolutely destroyed the field on his 1980 Yamaha YZ125, lapping most of the field. To watch this character perform was such a treat as he carried ridiculous speed through all the corners while making it look effort- less. All packed against the fences watched in awe with jaws dropped. Certainly a sight to behold, and many who witnessed this performance are s ll talking about it weeks later. In total, people from 49 out of 50 states visited this historic moto facility, along with racers from Canada, Brazil, and Panama. Huge thanks to Ed Abdo and his loyal team for all their efforts in recrea ng Zoar Moto Park to the beau ful track it is today. Ed would also like to thank Merri and Cheryl Brown and all the NEVRC folks for scoring the event. What a fantas c week- end! -Kurt
