Trailers, bikes, ven- dors, and concessions! Traveling in from Colorado, I was looking forward to the forecasted nice weather, watching the Na onal Trials, par cipa ng in Cross Country races, and cheering for all the Vintage and Post Vintage motocross riders. Promoters Trampas and Sherri Parker, along with the whole event team, have really fine-tuned this na on- al finale over the years to make it a favorite event to finish out the 2025 schedule. Smiles and hugs greet- ed hundreds of riders and crew at the gate to the large and easy-to-access Nichols Park. Having plenty of parking, space for vendors, and maneuverability around the grounds, I feel, is really important to pull off an event of this magnitude. I love the fact that this is a Na onal finale and the loca on for the end-of- the-year awards banquet. I always look forward to catching up with old friends from across the country, making new friends, and enjoying unique bikes and barn finds. Not surprisingly this was an excellent cross-country course with a mixture of nice ght, wiggly, squiggly bar banging sec ons, some good flowing more open trails, wet creek crossings and technical rock down- hills, oh, and let's go ahead and throw in a few road racey asphalt sec ons and a huge spectator favor- ite fast grass track and to me it was a perfect cross country course right at 5 miles per lap. Let's see how the races turned out. Friday Cross Country – Vintage Mickey Sergeant, aboard a vintage Penton, overalled the Friday Vintage races and won the Sportsman 200 Expert class. Keeping Mickey honest was Darel Parsons, who pulled up a mere 13 seconds behind Mickey a er four laps and took the Sportsman 100 Expert class, with Steven Fisher coming in second in that class. Big "Red" Price put his old Husky through its paces, winning the Sportsman Open Expert class, while Nick Crawford, aboard his Hodaka, was first in the Sportsman 200 Intermediate class and first overall in the Intermediate classes. Curt Comer had his huge old Triumph roaring across the fields and woods, taking the Vintage 60+ Expert class. Friday Cross Country – Post Vintage Newly crowned 2025 FIM Vintage Trophy overall winner Fred Hoess and AMA Hall of Fame member and Motocross World Champion Trampas Parker
