when an IT175 fit me well, I found it just wasn't the right tool for the job, and I then decided to change up my game a bit and decided it was me to actually enjoy the 250 Qualifier as it was intend- ed. Woods racing. That first ou ng racing the Can-Am went pre y well. For an old ride with a reputa on for handling like a Frigidaire, it's actually a solid mount. The Rotax motor is incredible, best described as elec- tric-like with smooth linear low-end torque that builds to a really strong mid-range hit, and it likes to rev. The chassis, although rather "chopper-like," handles decently and actually turns pre y well if you keep your weight over the front fender. I'd rebuilt the Marzocci forks with new seals and fresh oil. They work decently for a vintage bike, and the original rear shocks s ll do a fair job of keeping the rear end planted, although a new set of YSS shocks have been on my radar. Having raced a few NETRA Vintage events on this bike, the once pris ne Qualifier has a few ba le scars but nothing to lose sleep over. In fact, they are well-earned scars that I'm proud of, and we're looking forward to enjoying this bike some more over the 2026 vintage race season! -Kurt April 2026 37
