ANEC National Enduro - Farm 14 ANEC National Enduro - Farm 14 Centerville, Mississippi Centerville, Mississippi By Jeff Debell By Jeff Debell Photos By Art Pepin Photos By Art Pepin 16 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com Round 3 of the ANEC na onal enduro series trav- eled to Centreville, MS, and motocross legend Kevin Windham's Farm 14 motocross and off-road park. The 2200-acre facility offers groomed motocross tracks, woods riding, camping, and RV hookups, and hosts mul ple training classes from various pros throughout the year. This is the first me Farm 14 has hosted an enduro, and it was a unique opportu- nity as well as the first go at a two-day format that series boss Stew Baylor wanted to try. KW14 was on site all weekend and seemed quite pleased with how everything went, and I'd imagine Farm 14 will be on the na onal schedule again. You've all read the results already, probably the same day on LiveLaps, so you already know Grant Baylor overalled it, Stew was second, and Liam Draper rounded out the Pro1 podium. Jason Tino and Jhak Walker put on a show in the Pro2 class with Tino ul mately taking the day, followed by Jhak and series leader Nick DeFeo. Korie Steede con nued to dominate the Women's Elite class, handily topping Shelby Turner and Brooke Cosner. Most cha er over the weekend revolved around the two-day format and the inclusion of a 7th test, the Super Test, on Saturday for the pro and A riders, and that's where the next page or two is headed. Think of this more as an analysis and opinion piece instead of a race report. There's lots of thoughts out there, and these are just mine based on observa on and talking to racers. Not right, not wrong, and certainly not including all angles and logis cal and finance issues. Draw your own conclusions. We'll look at the two-day format first. There was a lot of grumbling on social media when the two- day was first announced. A lot of it was old school "we've always done it this way, why change?" stuff, but there are legi mate concerns about travel and days lost from work in certain scenarios. For the A rider who usually took Friday and Monday off from work to race Sundays, now you take Thursday and Friday instead, and you're back to work Monday a er your Saturday race. If you travel with some- one who is in the C class, however, now you're both commi ed to Thurs, Fri, and Mon to get your Sat and Sun races in, so I get that is a "con" to probably a fair number of racers. Another group "nega vely" affected is the A rider who owns his own business or regularly works Saturdays and would normally get off work, drive all night, nap in the parking lot, and race Sunday morning.
