Spring in New England is a me of great colors,
warmer weather, and the start of another riding
season for us off-road fana cs. Here at Trail Rid-
er, we are lucky enough to start our season off
with another beau ful Beta, courtesy of Beta
USA, a 2026 Beta 430 Race.
The guys at Beta know what the people want
when it comes to sexy machinery, I'll tell ya.
This bright blue and red model is really crispy
and eye-catching. Besides it being super sexy,
the first thing I no ced was the new grippy
textured seat cover. And boy, do I hate a slip-
pery seat cover. So hats off, Beta, for this bonus
feature!
While I was throwing the bike up onto the stand,
it felt fairly light to me. Not sure about the
weight, but compared to my KTM 450 SXF of
approximately 240 lbs, it felt similar. I did the nor-
mal adjustments to the bars and levers just to be
comfy for this test. I was excited, like on the first
day of school, with all my new clothes and sneak-
ers, eager to get out there and perform! Other
than control preferences, we didn't make any ad-
justments to the bike whatsoever. It's fresh out of
the crate. As instructed by our dealer, Jim Myrick
at Maine Cycles, we'll be leaving this one alone
for the first 500 miles. We will get more into that
next month with a full feature of the 2026 Beta
430 Race in the June issue of Trail Rider.
