10 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com As for power delivery, ini ally I thought the 430 RR Race might be geared a bit too high for our rocky, rooty, slow-gong technical terrain, but once I got used to the bike, I found it to lug down way lower than most four-strokes pre- fer, without even a hint of flame-out. It's very tractable down low, with an extremely linear power delivery. When twisted hard, the 430 RR Race is one powerful beast, with the front wheel hanging in the air proudly while the rear re is digging a trench! With its six-speed, wide-ra o transmission, it's got long legs; 65 is not even breathing hard, making it the perfect tool for dual-sport events with longer stretches of two- track or pavement pounding. If you've read this far into my glowing review of the 2026 Beta 430 RR Race, one might ask, Is there anything I did not like about the 430 RR Race? Well, yes, and it's a minor gripe. I didn't care for the Maxxis res. But to their defense, res will always be a terrain-specific component, and the manufacturer has no way of know- ing where their machine will end up. For New England, in my opinion, the Maxxis compound is way too s ff for our rocky/rooty terrain. A er experimen ng with re pressures, I found the Maxxis res flexed enough to s ck at 8 psi, but pinch flats would be a concern with stock tubes. I'm sure they're great in the desert sand where hard compounds shine, but we'll be spooning on a set of Bridgestone Ba lecross X31s front and rear soon. In closing, the 2026 Beta 430 RR Race is quite the mul -tool. With some minor suspension adjustments, it's a killer in the rocks and plush enough for the slower rider looking for a com- fortable ride. As for expert-level and pro riders, all it takes is an adjustment of the clickers, and the 430 RR Race will be sure to carry you across the finish line in fine style. With such a versa le motor and gearbox, the 430 RR Race is a per- fect choice for those who prefer all-day events. Beta's slogan "Rideability" fits the 430 RR Race oh so well! We've got a lot more in store this season for our 2026 430 RR Race, and we'll do our best to keep you in the loop! -Kurt
