Now onto the race results. Saturday Vintage: Taking the Vintage Overall was Clint Hawk, pu ng in some truly smoking laps on his Germany-bound 1974 Penton 250 Hare scrambler with a borrowed 175 blue tank while his red tank is being prepped for the Enduro Vintage Trophy. Jeff Oakley had a great race, taking the Vintage 60+ Expert class, and rounding out the Overall Podium was Alan Shepard in the Sportsman Intermediate class. Brian Strick- lin put his li le bike through the trees to win the Sportsman 100 Expert Class. James Smith had a great ride taking the Sportsman 200 Expert class. Robert Willford pulled up in 4 th Overall, winning the Vintage 50+ Expert Class. And 60+ Novice rider Charles Eiman put in super-consistent laps, cover- ing the Vintage 60+ Novice Class. It's always great to see the BSAs on the course with Stephanie Dan- iels and Mark Sturtevant winning their respec ve Women's Intermediate and Premier Expert Classes. Saturday Post Vintage, Premodern, Next Gen, and Millennium: Coming in all the way from Colorado was ISDE and Enduro Vintage Trophy Legend Fred Hoess. He told me, "he really needed some seat me, more similar to Germany condi ons, and the Tennessee loamy, off-camber, rooty woods would fit the bill perfect- ly!" Lined up next to Fred were a couple of kids on some Next Gen/Millennium-type bikes. But as the flag dropped, Fred got a good start and hit the woods first, followed closely by some really fast kids. But as the saying goes, "age and treachery win out every me!" Fred pulled away as he does and overalled the a ernoon race. He did have some good compe on with Deegan Crum riding a nice Next Gen Kawi, who rolled into the finish line in second place, and Clint Hawk, also on a Next Gen bike, rounded out the a ernoon podium. Randy Bailey and Cody Bock must have had a knockdown, drag-out because Randy Bailey winning the 50+ Expert Class came in a mere 4 seconds ahead of Cody! Another close race was between 70+ Expert riders Bob Bean and Bill Bagby, with Bob sliding in 2 seconds ahead of Bill. What a great race that must have been between two fast 70+ guys!
