famous Lommel track. Some people don't remem-
ber that the race happened over two weekends:
250 in Belgium and 500cc in Germany a week later.
I also spoke with Kevin, whom I first met in 1989 at
the Hockenheimring German World Championship
road race round.
Day 3 was 50 miles for both AA and B/C riders.
The first 10 miles were from day 2 to get back up
the mountain, then it was a different fast, flowing
singletrack along the creek bed; some of the fast
riders were ge ng into 4th and 5th gears. We
did have a short uphill off-camber sec on before
heading back into Challis, early enough for riders
to pack and make the drive down the mountain
during daylight. For any Easterners coming out to
ride in Idaho, this event would be a great star ng
point. I look forward to riding this event again as
more fresh trail is being added.
