Josh Toth Josh Toth track. Burning Rock doesn't have a truly prepped moto track, and that is what might have go en the ANEC minds thinking about a different type of test. They delivered with a modified hard enduro course with an over-under lane change to give racers two laps around the course. The test start- ed out over a re jump, then a pair of 90-degree turns dumped you into the Labyrinth, one of those evil mul ple log jumps with just over a bike length between logs. Then it was up over another couple of jumps and into the grass track sec on, which led to the Elevator. The inside lane went up and down two steep stair steps; the outside lane went up and down three. Each about 10 feet high, and too steep to climb on foot. Broc Hepler tripled up and down the outside during tes ng, which was dang impressive. Most everyone else chose to double up and down, although there were a few triple ups amongst the pros. The Elevator dropped you in "the Manmade Forest" (which everyone knows is properly called a Jersey S ck farm), which was round posts stag- gered at "just less than handlebar width" spac- ing. Some chose to sawhorse the bars through while others "trials'd" through. Smooth is smooth, though, and no ma er the style, some flowed through like water and others struggled. From the s ck farm, a chicane led to a log pile, up and over, then a rock pile, up and over, and then the over-under split, which had riders swap lanes for a second go at the course in the opposite lane. The Super Test was run Saturday evening for me as a stand-alone 7th test for the pro classes only. On Sunday, it was added to the end of Test 6 for all Pros, AAs, and As. I personally suck at the skills and condi oning required for hard enduro stuff, but I was surprised to find everyone pret- ty pleased with the test, so it was a hit with the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, there was a good-sized spectator gallery, especially on the Elevator hill- side where close to 100 spectators set up with chairs and EZ-Ups. Live announcing added to the fes vi es during each head-to-head race. The Super Test was also live-broadcast with pre-race interviews, turn-by-turn announcing, killer drone footage, and trackside coverage. Evan Smith was quickest through the Super Test in 2:13.98, bes ng second-place Jason Tino by just 1.5 seconds.
