Money is ght, and products that prove their worth by exceeding all expecta ons while withstanding the test of me have never been more important—case in point: my buddy Chris "Mully" Mullen's 2022 GASGAS 250 MC. Mully's story is familiar. He grew up riding dirt on a KDX200, and soon college, family, career, and house took priority. About three decades later, he met your editor, Kurt, through a neighbor of ours, and soon Mully was back in the woods on a favorite in our fleet: a '94 KDX200, aka "The Vil- lage Bicycle," a bike that has reintroduced many to the sport of trail riding. That old KDX and the camaraderie that comes from this ac vity sparked an itch to throw down and buy a brand-new bike. With deals on le over models at the me, Mully bought a new '22 GASGAS in the spring of 2023, and it's been game on ever since! With a goal of protec ng his investment, Mully reached out to Alec at Slavens Racing for a skid plate, pipe guard, radiator guards, rear disc guard, TPS guard, and wrap-around hand guards, and all components chosen have delivered as adver sed. Even a er three seasons of rocks, roots, and more than a handful of nasty get-offs, everything has done an admirable job of protec ng the bike—basi- cally, money well spent. The fact of the ma er is Mully's bike was ge ng a bit long in the tooth and was in desperate need of a en on. An avid reader of Trail Rider (thanks, buddy), I wrote a piece several months back about components that prove their worth while saving you money by keeping your face off the forest floor, which sparked a spending spree. Cosme cs aside, Mully's main goal was safety; as we all know, get- ng hurt can be extremely expensive.
