The night before the originally scheduled second round of the Wide Open J Day Offroad Win- ter Triple Crown, over a foot of snow fell on the re- gion and race organizer John Day made the wise call to push the event forward. The new race day offered perfect weather for spectators and riders alike, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 50's. The sandy Massachusetts soil drained away melting snow and left the track in prime condition. The minis benefitted from frozen ground in the morning but by the after- noon race, things had softened up. Studded tires turned up deep ruts near the start, providing lots of entertainment for the onlookers. In addition to flow- ing single track through Cape Cod pines, the course featured a gnarly KTM Xtreme Section where riders were offered a choice between a high-flying MX triple on the left and endurocross-style log obstacles on the right. In the Pro class, Kyle Hangos took an early lead in the first moto and didn't slow down all day, taking the checkered flag with a one minute lead in both the morning and afternoon races. Ben Kelley went 2-2 for second place and Derrick Barnaby took third in both motos aboard a 1995 CR250. Brendan Riordan was just shy of the podium this round, earning fourth with an equally consistent 5-5. In the A250 race, John Gosselin repeated his win from the Cranberry GP I against some stiff competition: Chris Crispin Jr and Andrew Bonville finished close on the leader's heels, with Crispin earning second with 3-2 finishes and Bonville going 2-3 for third.
