May/June 2014 29 esque Sunday morning rides in the park. However, this year saw a change in pace combined with full cooperaon of the weather. A refreshingly lovely tromp in the woods was had by many while a guest appearance by the sun graced us all. The Bremerton Cruisers MC laid out a pair of courses that were slightly shorter than most previous years and required more mekeeping skills than flat out racing. To many rider's surprise they were able to finish on their minute and tally up a score that was less than their age. The special tests were sll there to separate the weekend warriors from the truly fast aspiring off road heroes. Hour-outs were few and the general carnage of years past was seemingly absent. The overall went to AA rider Zachary Burrell with 200A rider Lori Taylor (former ISDE US women's team) right on his heels taking a close 2nd. The C High Point short course overall went to Duane Gerrard who scored a mere 1.0047 points while riding in the Super Senior Class. It will be a very interesng year with the newly expanded NMA Enduro Series that now provides mulple formats (mekeeper, ISDE, & enduro scramble). The first of four mekeepers is behind us and a longer than usual race sea- son awaits all the northwest enduro riders. On deck is the 33rd annual Ron Morgenthaler Memorial Shelton Valley En- duro, always a fun me to be had there. The full schedule for NMA Enduro and Off Road events can be found at hp://www.nmaoffroad.org/ Story by Rick hanke, Photos by Stumpjumpers MC
