38 Trail Rider J DaY OFFROaD CROWhiLL WEEKEnD SPRINT ENDURO A pril 30, 2016. Round 1 of the J Day Sprint Enduro Series kicked off in fine fashion at the popular Crow Hill MX facility in Templeton, MA. This will be an eight race series with a double header weekend at the beautiful Lanesborough, Massa- chusetts location in Au- gust. As is typical of the sprint enduro series, there were three test courses to ride: a woods section, an extreme section and a cross track. The novices were required to do each test three times for a total of nine tests. The amateurs, experts and pros did each test four times for twelve total tests. The time taken to complete each test is added to the riders' cumulative scores, and at the end of the day, the person with the fastest cumulative score wins. The woods test was the longest of the day, taking an average of around nine minutes to complete with the Pros throwing down 6-plus minute lap times. This was the most technical test of the day as the trail wound up and around a few classic New England rock and root-laced hills. The extreme section was shorter, averaging about 5 minutes and including a few nasty mud holes, which claimed many victims in the novice race, along with the familiar and popular endurocross section. The cross test wound through a sand pit adjacent to the mo- tocross track. The sand here was deep and required a long twist of the throttle to keep the bike upright. At the completion of the 12th test, it was Jason Klammer tak- ing the overall win with a score of 57:40. Close behind was NETRA Enduro and Hare Scramble champion Dylan MacRitchie with a score of 59:01. Anothony Federico rounded out the final podium po- sition with a score of 1:01:08. The next round is May 21st in Chester, NH. ROUND 1 www.TrailRider.com Jason Klammer set a blister- ing pace for the overall win at the J Day sprint enduro. Dylan Macritchie set some fast test mes but lost the overall to Jason Klammer. Jusn Recorvitz looking good through the cross test. Steve Carbonaro has been un- stoppbale in the A senior class. Jeff ODell rode a solid race to capture the A Vet class win.
