what occupied the majority of his life. Many cool rides there, side hacks too. One very innovative side hack with a highly modified, single cylinder, Lectron carbed, 705cc Honda XR powered rig was the center of attention in his shop. There was zero to be found stock, many components hand machined, just too cool for words really. The story behind the little Honda was the seller bought it many years back along with a '76 Husky 250 just to get the vintage three rail trailer the bikes were on, a package deal. The story was a husband and Wife had bought both bikes and the trailer new back in 1976. The little Honda to be ridden by the Wife and their "Bucket List" trip was to tow across country and ride Baja California. They logged about 1700 miles on the bikes while in Baja and headed back east to never ride dirt again. Yes, resurrect the old girl. Leave the restorations for the really rare museum pieces. We wanna ride this stuff again right? Maybe someone will want to restore it later when we're through. The project was completed in about 3 weeks. Reproduction fenders found from DC Plastics were found to fit very well and look great. The top end was measured and amazingly, found to be well within spec so it was reassembled with new gaskets. As should be done with all old 2 strokes, new crank seals were installed, new points/coil/condenser. Carburetor was rebuilt with all new gaskets jets and needle. A cool vintage en- duro tail light was found on ebay as icing on the cake. Once all assembled, the little MR started on the August 2016 37
