and no chance to get any sort of decent rhythm going. Evidently Stew Baylor, fresh from the Spanish ISDE, thrives in this stuff , as he topped the fi eld in this test as well as Test 6 which was 7.1 miles of more of the same and even tighter. He topped the fi eld by a full 3 seconds in test 5 and by over 10 seconds in the 6th test. Impres- sive riding, to say the least! e C riders were mercifully split off at the conclusion of test 5 with the B riders splitting a er the 6th test, likely a welcome relief to all as they'd had their fi ll on the tight, rocky Zink woods by that time. e Pros, AA and A rid- ers had a somewhat less challenging 2.8 mile transfer back to the grass track where they ran their fi nal timed test by running the 3.1 mile grass track in reverse. A er 63.1 total ground miles, Cory Buttrick took the overall, besting second place Jesse Groemm by only 21 seconds. Stew Baylor was 45 seconds behind Buttrick to claim the third podium spot for the day. Russell Bobbitt, riding "conservatively" to ensure a good fi nish, came in 6th on the day, still only a minute and a half behind Buttrick. While Buttrick, Gro- emm and Baylor took the event podium, the big celebration was at the KTM pit where Off - Road Manager Antti Kallonen hoisted Russ Bobbitt's hand in victory for securing the 2016 national enduro championship for the team. Congratulations to all of the national class winners. Complete result can be found on the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series website. anks to Six Days vets Alan Randt, Cody Mastin and the rest of the NEPG crew for managing the series all year, and special thanks to the Tulsa Trail Riders members for hosting yet another outstanding round of the national enduro series. e series fi nale returns to the Zink Ranch next October, and for anyone on the fence about coming out to Tulsa, the Zink Ranch is an unforgiving mistress, but that grass track special test is worth every penny of the entry fee. You won't have a better time on another 3 miles all season.
