As for carbure on, the original Bing had the typi- cal slide carb body wear along with a fair amount of corrosion at the intake bell from the mouse house mess. Since we've had such great results with Lectron's Billetron series carbs, we reached out to Kevin Gilham once again to see if they'd be willing to custom-machine a new 38mm Billetron Pro for the applica on. Lectron is always easy to work with and they sent us a form to fill out with all the dimensions of the stock Bing. With the form all filled out and emailed back we received a custom-made Billetron Pro within three weeks of placing the order. Fantas c service for sure in this day and age. As for a thro le and cable, the original gear-driven throt- tle was pre y worn, and the free length of the cable was way too long with no adjustment. A er a bit of experi- menta on, we found a modern Yamaha YZ250 thro le and cable to work perfectly. The fuel system was topped off with a new Uni Filter air filter from DC Plas cs and the controls were dressed in Preston Pe y Works GP grips. The next order of business was the rolling stock. The 45-year-old Metzeler res had to go. For the front, we went with Kenda's K781 Triple-S cky in 90/100-21 and a 120/100-18 Trackmaster rear as they seem to stand up well to big bore abuse. The tubes are Kenda Super thick tubes. Wrapping up the wheelset were bearings and brake shoes. Lectron's Billetron Pro 38 Lectron's Billetron Pro 38
