Brief history of Electrex World From humble beginnings as a bike breaker in Reading UK during the 1980s, Peter and Les- ley Houghton have grown the business into a world-renowned company supplying a ermar- ket electrical components for mainly European and Japanese motorcycles. Electrex started in Pete's garden shed where he recondi oned components such as generators and igni on coils. With his engineering back- ground, he quickly saw a gap in the market for a ermarket electrical components and started designing his own versions of OEM products such as regulator rec fiers, stators, flywheels, and stator coils, which they s ll manufacture today. With greater demand for replacement com- ponents for motorcycle manufacturers such as BSA, Duca , Honda, Kawasaki, Maico, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Triumph & Yamaha, Pete successfully manufactured complete self-genera ng stator kits and ligh ng systems which proved to be a big hit amongst the diehards of the classic motorcycle world. Electrex World race alternator kits have also proved popular and have been used on race bikes at events such as the Isle of Mann TT, AHR- MA 350GP championship, and the Australian Speed Week, where a new land speed record of 149.229 MPH in the M/F 750 class was set on a Suzuki GT750O with their race kit. With over 35 years of experience Electrex World s ll manufactures over 90% of their products in their UK factory using state-of-the-art equip- ment. Electrex World uses high-quality compo- nents and take pride in the reliability of their products. As well as being proud OEM suppliers to Norton and Triumph, Electrex World has distributors across Europe and the UK and export to Canada, America, Australia & Asia. Electrex World parts are compe vely priced and many mes cheaper than brand-name parts. Electrex World is currently looking for a US distributor, for more informa on contact info@ electrexworld.co.uk Since this was nothing but a resurrec on, the frame was not painted, just cleaned. We like the honest pa na of an original bike, and it looks just fine for our intended purpose. The only components painted were the pipe, silencer, and moun ng bracket. The icing on the cake was a body kit from DC Plas cs. The fit and finish look iden cal to the original Falk plas c and the color spot-on. Now a runner, readers can look forward to a feature test on this bad boy in an upcoming issue.
