From the Roots of New England to an East Coast Premiere Race Series In 2011, John Day had a vision. New England riders needed something different, something that blend- ed the intensity of motocross with the unpredict- ability of woods racing and the raw challenge of extreme terrain. Tradi onal hare scrambles and enduros had their place, but Day believed there was room for a faster, more spectator-friendly, and more dynamic off-road format. That series became the J Day Off Road series pre- sented by Fox Racing. What started as a homegrown idea quickly evolved into one of the most respected off-road racing se- ries in the Northeast. Over the past sixteen years, J Day has built a reputa on not only for its crea ve track design but for its ability to elevate the rider experience. Today, it stands as a premier hybrid off-road racing series; one that con nues to push boundaries in format, produc on, and reach. A Format Built for Intensity At the heart of J Day's success is its unique GP-style race format. Each event combines approximately 60% flowing woods trails, 20% motocross or grass track, and 20% extreme terrain. Rather than the long-dis- tance and me survival format of tradi onal off-road racing, J Day packages the ac on into two high-inten- sity 30-minute motos for every class. The courses are compact, typically between one and three miles, designed inten onally to keep racers close to the ac on and spectators engaged through- out the en re event. The layout allows fans to witness mul ple sec ons of the race without trekking deep into remote woods. At the same me, riders benefit from a balanced course that tests speed, technical skill, endurance, and racecra . The result is an electrifying blend of motocross urgen- cy, woods-race strategy, and extreme terrain, all com- bined in a format that pushes riders from the opening lap to the final turn. The popular "woods motos" in par cular have re- shaped how many riders view off-road compe on. Thirty minutes may not sound like much, but at J Day pace, it is a sprint layered with technical obstacles, bar-to-bar ba les, and zero room for mistakes.
