Pro 2 Podium winner Jason Tino was on fire Pro 2 Podium winner Jason Tino was on fire and watch them hit the Super Test. Saturday riders needing to get home were on the road by 4, which shortens the day for everyone. Let's talk about the Super Test. The normal na on- al format is 6 tests and 50 to 60 ground miles with transfers included. Farm 14 included a 7th test for the Pro and A riders, namely the "Super Test": two laps of a finely prepped moto track with an over- and-under halfway through that forced riders to switch lanes. Switch lanes? On a moto track? What lanes? There were two lanes, side by side, that were ribboned off just like those European ISDE and World Enduro grass tracks you see. On the first lap, you're on the inside of le turns and the outside of right turns...and the opposite on the second lap. It made for some great racing. The pros were assigned start- ing posi ons against other pros, but everyone else could pick who they wanted to race against, so there were a lot of racers going head-to-head against their buddies for bragging rights and the loser's beer. The huge "con" on the Super Test is that it is so freakin labor intensive to set up and tear down. The one-mile test required three miles of ribbon (le , center, right) and well over a thousand stakes pound- ed into the hard ground. It was all hands on deck ge ng that thing set up, and all other prep work ground to a halt as every available worker and the en re ANEC crew spent over four hours lining the track on Friday morning. Stew opined, "Man, we're gonna have to rethink some things before West Vir- ginia. This thing's killing us," and there were already a lot of good me-saving and labor-saving op ons being tossed around by day's end. Labor issue aside, my personal opinion is that the Super Test kicked ass for many reasons. *Great prep for our ISDE-bound riders who will face stuff like this in Europe...miles of technicals and transfers that drop you into a grass track where you have to go WFO. Our kids need to know how to transi on back and forth between enduro and grasstrack/moto, and I believe one of ANEC's goals should be to provide our good riders the opportuni- ty to train for the ISDE. *You can race your buddy. *Great specta ng for family and friends. If you missed Jason Tino and Jhak Walker airing it out on the jumps, you sure missed a show. Watching all of the pros haul ass was fantas c.
