10 Trail Rider www.TrailRider.com March 10, 2014 Ormond Beach, Florida F actory KTM/FMF rider Mike Lafferty earned his 14th overall win at the 2014 Alligator Enduro. This was the e 64th running of the Alligator En- duro and was hosted by the Daytona Dirt Riders at the Strickland Ranch. With several secons literally under water, the club was forced to shorten the course from 65 to 44 miles. As the day wore on, the club re-routed several sec- ons in response to deteriorang condions. The course alternated from long stretches of muddy ruts to standing water to fantasc single track lined with palmeo roots. When it was done, Lafferty won every test and dropped a mind boggling 12 points. "I had a good day. Condions weren't as bad as I thought they would be. For the first test I just tried to ride out of the ruts and play it safe. The bike was perfect and I didn't need to make any changes to it. It was hard not knowing how the compeon was doing so I just rode my own race and kept my head down." Second overall went to AmPro Yamaha's Brad Bakken with 15 points lost. Bakken was strong all day, tying Laf- ferty in several tests. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day was NETRA Hare Scramble Champion Jason Klammer rounding out the final podium posion with 18 points lost. Klammer had this to say: "It was a good day. It was mud- dier than I thought it would be so I just tried to mini- mize my mistakes and ride as fast and as comfortably as I could. The bike worked great and the new MX 32's were fantasc. There was a lot of compeon there today and it was good to ride so close to Brad Bakken and other guys like Garret Edmonston and Jason Raines. I was prey happy considering it was my first race in a while."
