May/June 2014 9 E very me I ride one of the post-2012 350's, I feel like the 450 off-road bikes are now obsolete, at least for most of us eastern woods riders. The newer 350's deliver a lot for the woods rider: a wide spread of power that includes plenty of grunt off the boom with long legs up top. No longer are the 350's viewed as punched-out, bloated, 250 four-strokes. In- stead, they're close to the 450 in terms of torque but with a weight savings that set them apart. The new Husqvarna FE 350 is the latest entrant in to the mid-sized four-stroke market, and similar to the new TE 250 we discussed last month, it performs like a cross between the KTM XC-F and the highly acclaimed Husaberg FE 350, with which it shares an engine. Un- like its KTM cousin, the Husqvarna lacks a kick starter, though you can install one via the Husky Power Parts
