www.TrailRider.com 10 Trail Rider catalogue. Rather than bore you with a discussion about the minor differences that separate the two aforemenoned 350's, we'll focus on how the FE 350 performs. The Husqvarna 350 is an excellent off-road package and handles just about every type of terrain with ease. The bike is well bal- anced and easy to ride. I felt like I could go just about every- where in third gear. It will lug down low and get you through the technical terrain with less clutch work than previous versions of this 350 motor. And when the trail opens up, the power is de- liberate, linear and quick without any flat spots while encroach- ing on the upper end of the power band. The Husqvarna feels like it has a heavier fly- wheel than my former XC-F 350 and as a re- sult, resists stalling and holds lower revs. The power is always there, but it isn't like a 450 where you need to overly cauous; the 350 rider is easily in command of the power. The new 4CS forks are valved appropriately woods riding. The forks transion smoothly through the stroke and do a good job keep- ing the rider going straight. Deflecon was minimal over a variety of terrain. The FE 350 has the same WP 4CS forks and DDS shock suspension system as the rest of the Husqvarna line. The forks also ride higher in the stroke than the 2013 Husaberg TE mod- els and the ability to change compression and rebound on the fly is a nice opon, as both are located atop the forks with the compression on the le and rebound on the right. The days of pulling out the screw driver and laying on the ground to adjust the rebound are history. Though the shock rides high in the stroke, it is sll quite plush. The bike is also stable at speed and when aacking the technical sec- ons; I wasn't thinking "suspension revalve" unl pounding through whoops. Even then, 10cc of fork oil may be a good starng point before laying out cash for a revalve if you ride more open terrain. The back end stayed straight over the logs and through the whoops. The linkage also keeps the rear end more planted and stable through the chop and braking bumps. As far as agility goes, it feels about the same as the KTM XCF-W or Husaberg FE 350, which places it between the 250 and 450 four- strokes. The 20mm triple clamps make it a quick turner but you won't confuse it for a 250F in the ght stuff. This isn't to suggest that it's overly cum- bersome, either. It is not. The Husqvarna also holds a straight line in the ruts. The true strength of the 350 will always be the wide variety of terrain in can conquer. The newest generaon Brembo brakes provide fine hUSQVARNA FE 350 The husqvarna 350 makes plenty of torque and can lot the front wheel on command.
