and ini ally decided to move the start me back an hour — just run down the road, do the big grass track test and then get everyone back to get the fi nal motos underway as soon as possible. The con nual line of thunderstorms that built to the east put the halt to that plan and by 9a.m. the decision was made to pull the plug before they had to start rounding up four- wheel drive tractors to pull everyone from the camping area fi elds. This was a sad end to what started out as a fantas c weekend, but the correct decision by the club. No ma er how hard it is to call it quits a er weeks of planning and prepping trails, it's not worth the chance of riders ge ng hurt or hopelessly damaging their beloved vintage bikes. You just cannot fi ght Mother Nature. Huge thanks to the Acadiana Dirt Riders for hos ng this great Reunion Ride. Their hours of hard work are defi nitely appreciated by all who came to have fun in their backyard. Be sure to mark your calendars, for next year's Reunion will be held October 20-21 in Geneseo, IL. The event will be hosted by Tom and Denny Reese at the grand opening of the Moto Armory museum. Rumor has it, many top motocross and off -road racers of the past have been invited and will a end. This is an event you will not want to miss! With the upsurge in interest in the NETRA vintage hare scrambles series; this AHRMA Reunion Ride is a perfect fi t for the New England crowd. Yes, Geneseo, IL is a bit of a trek, and yes, you'll have to buy an AHRMA weekend membership (about half the normal $75 annual dues) if you're not already a member, but it's a ton of fun and you'll get to see many of the top riders we all looked up to back in the day.
